BY DBCCA and The Rockefeller Foundation, March 5th, 2012
DB Climate Change Advisors (DBCCA - http://www.dbcca.com), member of the Deutsche Bank Group, and The Rockefeller Foundation (http://www.rockefellerfoundation.org) released a research study on upgrading and replacing energy-consuming equipment in residential as well as commercial and institutional buildings.
Identifying Lighting Retrofits as one of the biggest "Quick Wins" in all areas, this study also summarizes three major impact areas if retrofitting is consistently implemented:
- Energy Efficiency Retrofits offers a $279 billion dollar investment opportunity and could offer energy saving of more than 1 trillion dollar over the next 10 years
- Energy Efficiency Retrofits could reduce the U.S. emissions by more than 600 million metric tons of CO2 (about 10% of U.S. emissions in 2010)
- Energy Efficiency Retrofitscould create more than 3.3 million job years in the U.S. economy
